“When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too”.
People aren’t broken; therefore, people can’t be fixed. That said, mental health professionals help people to live better for themselves. Learning to cope with mental health conditions, navigating loss, combating self-destructive behaviors, and implementing new habits to make life easier and more enjoyable are just some examples on how people can benefit from therapy.

Don’t just take our word for it…
“My experience of Amalia as a colleague is that she is direct, calm, clever, and warm. She’s always professional but somehow when I’m with her I feel like family. When I am working with a client whose spouse is looking for therapy I refer them to Amalia. As a therapist, we invest in our clients- over time tending to their well-being and wishing for them the very best, so referrals are made carefully and are the highest compliment between colleagues. I trust that my clients will feel as I do with her and I want that for them.”
- Dr. Cole Struhar, Professional Counselor Associate

Amalia is skilled at seeing the whole client and their experiences, identities, and the impact of the world around them. "Serenity Counseling with Amalia has truly provided the best experience on my life long journey of self love and personal growth. As a queer woman of color, I appreciate how she not only listens but genuinely sees me and supports every facet of my identity. She’s helped me understand myself better, has taught me to replace old coping mechanisms that were no longer serving me, and has met me where I am along the way. I would definitely recommend having Amalia in your corner, especially for women of color seeking a safe space to be themselves."

"I've been working with Amalia twice a week since early April. Since then my life has been completely changed for the better. I've had a few other therapists on my journey, but let me tell you...I have never, EVER worked with someone who is as personally invested in my mental health recovery like Amalia. In every meeting Amalia is genuinely caring and personally attends to my needs. We have a strong relationship where I feel seen, heard and valued not only as a client, but as a human being! In many ways it feels like we have known each other for years, and that is due how seriously she takes her role as a therapist. I have so much respect for this woman, it is astounding. If you are willing to show up and put in the work to move forward in your life, I will recommend Amalia 100 times over."
